Tips to Parent about involving with children

History has shown that fathers typically have been providers for the family and disciplinarians of children. In many families fathers work full time to provied for the family and may not have enough time to spend at home. However contemporary culture is changing and fathers are becoming actively involved in children's day to day lives.

Here are some suggestions for fathers who wish to rise to the lofty position of Dad:

  • Talk with you children about things they like to do more often with you and make a list of those which you could plan for next few weeks to do them together.

  • Bed time is a special time to be connected emotionally with your children if you were away from them due to a business tip or the likes. Spend atleast 15 minutes with them in their room and surrounded by their things around. Read their favourite book and then you may ask them the best thing happened to them that day. You also can share the best thing happend to you that day. Being in their space stimulates them and makes the experience pleasurable and memorable to them.

  • Talk to them during dinner time or at TV time. Listen to them and let them know that you value their opinions even if they are different from yours. Listening helps you understand them more and sends a message to them about your role too.

  • Take time to nurture your young child by rubbing shild's head, tummy and back. Give lots of smilesand other positive facial expressions.

Be involved with your children often if not on daily basis. regardless of your personal living situation, you can be invlovled in your children's care and factors that influence their well being.
